our first teachers in this life
we learn so much from you
-what to do
-what not to do
we learn with contempt
from your mistakes
we love and cherish the good times
we grow and deepen from the bad times
the greatest teachings you pose,
is to see you as human beings
...and not the gods of our childhood
because when we learn to see you as human,
and accept your humanness
we find the space to forgive you,
for not being the gods we once saw you as
